#39 - Jan 2010

29.01.2010
New Year Resolution? To buy a new car, Proton Saga as it’s the cheapest by far. Was thinking of Perodua Kenari but not too sure. Must check the price first. Anyway, it seemed that my plan to save up to 10k and dump it into downpayment and opt for 7 years instalment plan doesn’t seem to work out. I would still have to fork out about 500-600 for the instalment alone. What about petrol? I travel ~60km to and fro to work daily. The petrol bill won’t look enticing to me. Plus the insurance and road tax to be saved monthly? Plus maintenance servie bill? Toll? Hmm..maybe I should postpone my New Year Resolution to next year? Also not sure…

Got bonus and increment. Bonus is good but increment…a bit disappointed. Lesser than last year. Is it I didn’t perform well? I kept on asking myself but in the end I jz told myself to improve myself further and hope for better increment next year, come 2011. If the situation is still the same, then I will consider to start job-hunting. Jz the thought of job-hunting scares me. I have been in this company since day one and had been involved in setting up the lab and HACCP system. I will definitely feel sad and will then fear for rejection in interviews and worry how will it be in the new environment. But that is still yet to be seen…

Went to KL for seminar, and met friends (Chee Yee, Rebecca, Steffanie and Boey). Took monorail and KTM to MidValley. Stayed in Cititel and took Fireflyz flight back to Penang. First time arranging all these by myself. Nervous cos I am never a street smart person. But I just followed what others did and perhaps wasn’t too efficient in taking the monorail, KTM, checking in for Cititel and Fireflyz but nevertheless, I managed to do all that by myself. Not proud of that but still I did it all by myself! Still got more rooms for improvement…

Played badminton with Kulim friends occasionally and I am lucky to have another assistant who plays badminton as well. Was planning to ask other colleagues to join in so that once we got the numbers we can propose to the Management to book badminton for the employess monthly. But I am not sure whether the proposal will be passed or not. That’s why we choose another colleague for that daunting task. Hopefully, things will go well..

I realised that Jan 2010 is a challenging month for most of us. U have the Haiti earthquake, snow blizzards here while typhoon there, plane crash etc.. Doesn’t seem like a good way to start 2010. Maybe it’s beginning of the year, so everyone is busy but I found that there were so many problems haunting me at one time, which is scary for me… Was getting tired towards end of Jan 2010 and still there are lots of thing to settle. Nevertheless, the trip to KL really helped me to relax a lot. Thank goodness I attended the seminar.

Gonna plan to buy hamper for the foster family in Serdang, Kedah (way back when we did community service there). Gonna visit them on the 3rd day of CNY with Pei Ching, my foster sister in Xia Xiang Tuan. Speaking about XXT, don’t know how is it now ya? Still waiting for Albee for her CNY gathering plan, until now also no news yet. Not yet buy CNY clothes but already bought new sports shoe and new formal clothes, which I regretted since I will only wear it in the office and not outside as it’s too formal. Not yet buy CNY sandals….

Got bonus but already finished it within such a short period of time.. How money can be spent so fast ya? Tmrw gonna meet up with Ming Fung and the rest of Wood Tech gang with the exception of a few..How will Yong look like? That gal a, say wanna meet on Fri mana tau suddenly on Sat pula. Teruk punya budak! Nevertheless, hopefully tmrw I can make it la. Actually quite lazy to go Prai from Kulim.. Some more night time leh..But since Yong comes from afar, then we as hosts should show courtesy de.

Looking forward to a smoother Feb 2010. Hoping to get more angpows this CNY :)
