Business Class Flight

My first ever business class flight ticket.
Got upgraded because the flight was full.
Yuhoo!

I didn't know that biz class are entitled to premium lounge.
Probably not for those who are upgraded.

Imagine me eating satay and chicken curry rice at 11pm.
Air stewardess treat us well.
I had a very good seat.

The lady next to me was also upgraded.
She is from HP.
Tooo bad we are not staying in the same hotel, else will have a company.
She was travelling with her colleague.

Anyway, back to the post.
Yes, this is my first ever business class travel.
Imagine the delight of surprise I got :)
Thank you MAS!

Good food

Julie had an acquired taste for food.
Especially from overseas.
Reminds me of dear.
Very similar.

Mochi mini bun.
Very elastic in nature.
Should be without wheat flour.

Very good seasoning.
Recommended.
Seaweed with roaated sesame and don' t know what else.
Good seasoning.

Nana Green Tea in MidValley

Meet up with Yong and Huei.
Also lunch celebration for Huei.
Happy that I have good friends like them in KL.
God is being kind to me..

Yong recommended this place.
Decent healthy food.
Will recommend this place.
Green tea drinks and dessert are good.
But please don't come on weekends, as there are quite a crowd of patrons.
If you don't want to wait long for the table service and food.

Tori don for me.
Dou miao, minced meat and rice with soft boiled egg.
Feels fresh. Nothing much to shout about.

Salmon don for Yong.

Chicken karage salad on sharing basis.

Carbonara noodles for Huei.
The cream sauce has fresh seafood taste.
Yummy!

Forgot to snap the teas they served.
Love the refreshing taste.

Shopping frenzy in MidValley

First time shopping in KL.
Have to despite no promotions.
Almost two years didn't shop for clothes.
Because I wear uniform to work previously.
Now need to invest in office wear.

Some of the labels I had removed from the clothes.

Lo and behold!
These were what I had bought today.
Time taken: 11am -5pm.
Include lunch time and toilet break.

Charcoal tablet for India training trip.

Scrub for exfoliating.
Been awhile haven't scrubbed my face.
Hope it is not too harsh on my skin.

Lip ice with color.
With moisture protection.
I don't use makeup, so lip ice is good enough for me, I reckon.

Really ganas!
One short spent RM400++ in a day!
And I have yet to buy shoe, blazer and slacks!
Well, it is an investment required since it was almost two years since I last did such a serious shopping.

Jia you Pheo!

Sunday healthy breakfast

Healthy.
Learnt to cut oranges this way.
Easier for people to eat.

Ever since I came back from Nepal,
I am more willing to eat toast.
Must avoid the burnt part though.
Said to be carcinogenic.

Acrylamide from Maillard reaction is the culprit.
Those from Food background will know.

I wonder why didn't I try LJ's orange cutting method?
See here to view it.
Hmm...

Bukit Jalil Park

Finally I get to visit this park.
Decent one.
Like it.
Even saw a zumba dance there.

Love these bamboo trees.
Feel serene.
Can spend whole day here.
There is a place for everyone here.

Kids Grow Up Fast

Nieces had their graduation from their kindergartens.
Will be in primary school next year.
I wasn't there to witness their dance performance.
Bro whatsapp us their photos.

You can see who is the cheeky one between them.

With their friend.
Hui likes her friend a lot.
Kids don't discriminate.
That's what the politicians should learn from the kids.

Everyone with their crazy patterns, adoi!
Miss them so so much!

LJ's Orange Slicing Demo

LeeJie is so nice to demo step by step the easy way to slice orange for me.

She even drew this for me.
Can you imagine how playful she is?
And she calls herself angel...

Cut the top part so that you can easily peel the side.

You can either use knife to cut the sides or just use spoon to peel off the skin.
I like LJ's idea of using spoon.
Less taxing and no risk of cutting your hand.

Then cut the oranges into horizontal slices.
Just like how they cut the lemon slices to be inserted onto the glass rim.
Ta daa! They are done.

Thank you LJ!
You are such a wonderful person.

Julie-Made Egg Tart

Julie wanted to make egg tart for her SPICE group.

Initial baking.

Eggs start to rise and brown.

Uneven oven heat, perhaps.
I like the look though.

She used half all purpose flour and half self-raising flour.
Because she only had half pack of all purpose flour left.
The crust has crumbly cake texture.
But it is still ok to eat.
The filling is awesome beyond words!

I didn't get to see her making the dough etc.
In order to ensure your custard or egg filling has smooth surface, must sieve them.
When baking is almost completed, consider opening the oven door slightly.
So that the egg or custard filling doesn't concave inwards.
Slight sinking is acceptable but not the deep concave sink.

Iphone casing and temper proof screen protector

Got this.
RM10.
From pasar malam.

Flip cover casing with pockets.
Can keep I/C etc in it.
But friend said if it is stolen, I/C will be gone too.

Magnetic cover holder.
Prevents flip case from opening up when not in use.

Temper proof screen protector RM20.
Total spent RM30.
Company hp.

Now my world is a blue and green world, yay!

Mango Eating The Easy Way

Julie taught me to cut mango the easy way.
The way you saw people cut for mango on display.
You will get dices out of them.
After that, just use spoon to scoop them out.
The easy and lazy way, haha!

Babies Are Cute

My friends know that I like kids.
Recently, everyone is giving birth.
So I would like to share their photos.

ZiXing, from BeeHoon and Jiang.
He likes to smile a lot and is very obedient, at least when I saw him.
He is being very well taken care of his parents.
They married late and hence, I believe that's why they shower all the attention on him.
Most first-born will be given the full attention.

Pepper, from Rose and Duane.
Got the angmoh face because Duane is an Australian.
Saw her countless expressions from the FB photos they posted.

And my beloved nephew, Owen!
Both his parents have big eyes, so his eyes are no exception.
He is one amazing boy, I must say.

He kills you silently with his smile and gaze.
I can feel the static from his eyes in this photo.

Kids are the wonders of the world.
They make your life more meaningful.
More things to look forward to in life.

Weekend Outing With Julie's Church Mates

Followed Julie with her outing with her church mates.
We went to HIV home and visited the Myanmar Rohingya Refugee Home as well.

HIV patients suffer from weak immune system.
Their T4 cell counts are very low.
Hence, simple illness such as cold can be life-threatening to them.

Rohingyans are Muslim and they seek refuge in other countries
when there were clashes between Buddhist and Muslim in Myanmar.
However, the agents they paid locked them up in small containers before smuggling them in.

They will seek ransom from their family members.
Those who are lucky to have enough money will be released.
Else, they will be kept inside the containers in squatting position.

Imagine yourself squatting in the same position for 2-3 months.
Only one meal per day and no water.
The spaces are so limited for them that you can imagine how do they pass motion etc.
Probably not much motion to pass since their food intake is so limited.

By the time they were rescued, most would have too weak a muscle to even carry stuff.
Unlucky ones will have bone deformation as well.
The refugees will be placed at the refugee home until they recover, usually 1-3 months time.
UNHCR is providing subsidy for every refugee that comes in.

Hence, the home is accountable to ensure their well-being.
Once they are able to regain their normal muscular function, they will search for job.
They will still need to report to UNHCR I think.

Not easy to earn a living in this world ya.
Hence, we must always have the gratitude that we are living in this part of the world.
Shielded from major disasters, living in harmony with each other etc.

Then we had lunch at this restaurant, at Bukit Beruntung.
Very good food I must say and the price is reasonable.

Nasi campur

The most expensive I have tasted so dar.
Rm7.50!!!!
Telur dadar + cabbage + fish curry gravy.

Oh wait, with nasi beriani.
Maybe that's why.
But still expensive.
Hmmph!

That is why it is not called economy rice.
Now I understand why.

Owen My Dear Nephew

Sister and bro-in-law was in KL.
They came to find me for dinner.
Owen was sleeping.
So cute!

Smooth complexion because sis used MeiTuXiuXiu apps.
So deceiving right?

Sis whatsapp me this after she went back.
Miss this little nephew so much!
Cute to the max, especially the cheek.

Salmon Fat - Cooked Spaghetti

Julie loves to cook.
She bought salmon and cooked out the oil from the salmon skin.
Then she used the oil to stir-fry the spaghetti.

It tastes good albeit slightly sticky due to the salmon oil used.
Pardon the garnishing because I finished it off before taking the photo...

Amazing Stone Painting

These are actually stones.
Intricately painted.
But I wonder why do they don't look too happy?
Hmm...
By the way, these are Julie's items.
Julie, my housemate cum landlord.

My First OUG Night Market Visit

Julie was kind enough to bring me to OUG night market and showed me around.
Yong came to find me as well.
I am blessed to know them.

I always thought this is mini apple of some sort.
Mom bought this once before.
This is actually dates.
Look so different from the dried dates we have seen before.
I think the dried dates is naturally sweet rather than added with sugar.

We call this "chao tau fu" in Cantonese.
It is actually fermented toufu.
Deep fried until it is crispy on the outside yet still juicy on the inside.
Together with the sourish pickled cabbage and the spicy sauce...
This combination is definitely awesome!

Pampering Time

Finally remembered to apply face mask.
Brought some to KL so that I can apply it when I see it.
When you age, you can really feel the difference.

My Setup in KL

Hello KL!

Mom gave me this plant.
Was almost crying when mom asked if I want this.
Can feel that mom was as heavy-hearted as me.

Took milk for dinner.
Had bread and kaya on stand-by for breakfast.
