#100happydays Day 22 240714

Happy Day 22 (24/07/2014)
Tried an online personality profiling test.
Related to employment. Interesting.
But I must admit, the repetitive questions on similar can be quite confusing.
 My report as below...

Work Value: Achievement Striving
Definition
This is a measure of the importance of the opportunity for goal setting and skill usage in a job. This is a measure of the extent to which an individual needs to feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of the workday.

Significant Finding
·  You are likely to value the sense of pride and accomplishment associated with learning new skills, meeting goals, and fully using your skills on the job. You would likely enjoy work that involves regularly challenging yourself to meet organizational or personal goals.

  • Assess your skills through tests or by gathering feedback from others to determine ways to best match your skill set to work you enjoy. Ensure that jobs you seek fully utilize your skills.
  • Seek a job that strongly emphasizes personal growth and development in order to broaden your skills.
  • Explore types of work that have job requirements beyond those you currently possess. Prepare yourself for those jobs by taking classes or practicing the skills needed.
  • Examine your long-term career goals and determine skills needed for jobs that fit with your aspirations.

Work Value: Organizational Support
Definition
This component measures the degree of importance a candidate attaches to managerical competence and fairness in company policies. Competence reflects managerial skill, effective leadership, and knowledge of content specific to the manager's organization and division.

Significant Finding
·  You are unlikely to place value on the specific aspects of your employer's policies and procedures, such as dress code and computer usage. The skills of your supervisor are likely not very important to you.

  • Seek companies that do not have strict policies and procedures. You would be happier working for a company with more flexibility.
  • Before you accept a job, you would benefit from making sure that your supervisor is competent and dependable.
  • You should work under a supervisor that allows you to learn and develop your skills on your own.

Work Value: Personal Recognition
Definition
This is a measure of how important success, career advancement, and the opportunity for leadership is to a candidate. The extent to which an individual defines success in terms of social comparison is reflected in this measure.

Significant Finding
·  You are likely to place importance on being recognized for good job performance or having a high status job. You likely place more importance on being recognized for good work than the work itself.

  • Look for companies that offer "fast track" opportunities for employees willing to work hard to advance quickly. The work will be more challenging, but you will achieve your goals faster.
  • Look for jobs in which you can lead others and take charge of group projects. Look for companies that value individuals that "grab the reins" and take the lead when necessary.
  • Look for work in companies that have formal recognition programs that offer non-monetary rewards for good performance.
  • Look for work in high profile companies and/or high profile job types. Seek out jobs in which your peers can easily be made aware of your successes.

Work Value: Responsible Autonomy
Definition
This is a measure of the extent to which the candiate prefers to work on his or her own. It is a measure of how important it is to the candidate that he or she get the opportunity to set goals, take responsibility for his or her successes and failures, and express and follow-through on his or her ideas.

Significant Finding
·  You are somewhat likely to place importance on the ability to work alone. You would likely prefer a moderate amount of supervision and responsibility. You may want the opportunity to be creative.

  • Look for jobs that allow you to share new ideas and occasionally give you the chance to be creative.
  • You should look for jobs that allow you control over most day to day decisions, but not necessarily the critical challenges. You would be happiest when occasionally encouraged to be responsible for a project.
  • You should seek out jobs in which you would work under a supervisor that can provide guidance, but does not micromanage you.

Work Value: Social Responsibility
Definition
This is a measure of the extent to which "the greater good" is important to the candidate when looking for a job. This component measures the candidate's need for a job in an organization that upholds ethical standards and is socially responsible. This measure also reflects the candidate's desire for posititive relationships among coworker.

Significant Finding
·  You are likely to place importance on work that influences the welfare of others. You would likely enjoy work that involves working closely with others, carrying out highly ethical work, and doing things for other people.

  • Evaluate the social service record of any company to which you apply. Make sure that the causes to which the company chooses to devote its money and resources correspond with your values.
  • Make sure companies to which you apply do not have a history of ethical violations.
  • Look for jobs that involve a high degree of teamwork. Also, determine if organizations sponsor activities designed to encourage relationship building with coworkers.

Work Value: Working Environment
Definition
This is a measure of how important success, career advancement, and the opportunity for leadership is to a candidate. The extent to which an individual defines success in terms of social comparison is reflected in this measure.

Significant Finding
·  You are unlikely to place importance on the tangible aspects of the job you do, such as your work building, equipment, and activity level. You are likely to be unconcerned with how work is done or the environment in which it is carried out.

  • You tend to not care about being either too busy or not busy enough at work. Make sure you don't get either too overloaded with work or left with nothing to do.
  • Look for work in which the pay is fair, but don't turn down a job that pays less if it meets your other needs.
  • You are unlikely to care about how much time you spend working in teams, so make sure you find a job that allows you to work independently enough to meet your career development needs.
  • Make sure you have reliable contingency plans should you lose employment.
  • You tend to not care about how much variety is in your job. Talk to your supervisor about getting the opportunity to try new tasks.
  • Before accepting a position, make sure you will have the appropriate tools to do your job properly.

Work Value: WorkLife Balance
Definition
This component measures the extent to which an individual prefers policies and procedures that allow for more balance between work and non-work. These include flex time and remote work.

Significant Finding
·  You are unlikely to place importance on work flexibility and freetime for personal development. You are likely to prefer a structured work schedule and working in an office rather than at home.

  • Look for a structured work environment that has strict schedule requirements and a defined work space that allows you to work effectively.
  • Look for a job that will keep you busy doing the work that you enjoy. Your ideal job will allow you the opportunity to take on extra projects to keep you busy at all times.
  • Make sure you allow yourself the opportunity to relieve stress and attend to personal business to prevent burnout.

Happy Day 21 (23/07/2014)
Good stretching in yoga.
Then add weight program.
Celebrating colleague's birthday.
In Richard's Top Taste Restaurant in Taman Inderawasih.
Good food, good chef, good service, good ambience.

Young and old.
You name it, we have it.

I like hanging out with them.
Though not frequent and not deep conversation topic,
I felt at ease whenever I am with them.
Say whatever I want.

Impromptu decision to have dinner after badminton.

Good environment, not stuffy.
Lots and lots of food stalls.
Ate fried oyster + pan mee + iced coffee.
Fermented tea when got home.

Outcome...
2 rounds of toilets, settle.
Thank God.
Old age perhaps.
No stainless steel stomach.

Caught up with Reader's Digest due to stomach discomfort.
Blessing in disguise perhaps.

Hokkien Mi is good.

Recently craved for Hokkien Mi a.k.a. prawn noodle.
Lebuh Presgrave.
Been awhile I haven't really eat Hokkien Mi.
But recently crave for it.
Never had enough for it.

Dear got the key to his house.
Eager to show it to me.
Decent unit.

Tough but do-able.
Must practice before answering the actual one.

#100happydays Day 17 190714

Awesome and interesting ISO 22000 training.

Dry topic yet never once did I yawn.
The trainer is very good.
Learnt more about the clauses and how to use them in audit.
Worth the training fee incurred.

Can't wait.

4 stages:

Didn't see much difference.
Maybe I am too lazy to apply the product.

Currently at stage 3: growth.
1 more scalp treatment session.
1 more FOC hair treatment session.

Not continuing the package anymore.
Spending within my mean and budget.
After this can do re-bonding or magic perm.

Frizzy hair.

So unappealing to the eyes.

#100happydays Day 15 170714

Happy Day 15 (17/07/2014)
1st supplier audit in 2014.
In my life.

Went to 3 different plants.
Finally get to understand how packaging material is made.

Reminds me how customers are teaching suppliers to make things better.
Audit is a good thing.
It gives a new insight into current production process via an outsider's eyes.

Boss was very humble.
Said if want to do business, do trading.
Don't do manufacturing.
Advice taken.
Will keep in mind if such opportunity arises in the future.

#100happydays Day 14 160714

Happy Day 14 (16/07/2014)
Got postcards.
One from Taiwan, on Shifen.
One from dear, on Yosemite National Park.
Love both of them.

Shifen, Taiwan.
Can write wishes on the lantern before lighting it up,
and releasing it to the atmosphere.

Yosemite National Park.
Amazingly big giant sequioa trees.
Makes Mother Nature seemed so mystical.

#100happydays Day 13 150714

Happy Day 13 (15/07/2014)
Raining.
Felt so peaceful.
Public holiday (Nuzul al-Quran) today.

Rained just when I wanted to meditate.
Looked out my window to see this.

Reminded me to be close to Mother Nature.

Great timing to start meditation.
Felt so peaceful.

When the heart feels right,
a simple rain seemed like the best thing in life :)

#100happydays Day 12 140714

#100happydays Day 11 130714

Happy Day 11 (13/07/2014)
Completed Atma Kriya Yoga course.

\
Got to know about this from my FOC Om Healing session.
Mei Yee introduced us to AKY course.
I couldn't attend last year since I work on Saturday.
2 days course, Saturday and Sunday.

Finally this year, everything seemed to align by itself...

She was kind enough to accomodate my request to do it on 12&13Jul.
Public holiday on 12Jul (Penang YDP).
And oincidentally it was Guru Poornima, full moon.
Great timing.
She was kind enough to allow instalment for my course fee.
Grateful for that.

I will try to practice it because I am curious on its benefits.
It was said that together we can help to recreate a better Earth.

Where there is enough for everyone to share.
That's what drew me to Om Healing in the first place.

Law of Attraction.
Relationship between One and God.

Define God.
Allah? Buddha? Jesus? Hindhu God? Cosmic energy?
I don't know who is my God but I know that there is an energy out there looking after us.

I call it faith.
Whenever I am in doubt or would like to request for assurance, I will say:
Dear God, please grant me the courage, etc....

There is no face to my God.
But I felt better when I know I can count on my God, whoever my God might be.

#100happydays Day 10 120714

Happy Day 10 (12/07/2014)
Got free samples from Everyday.
Borrowed post from 15/07/2014 since I was in AKY course and I didn't snap photo.
I got the chance to eat Indian vegetarian food in D'Piazza, quite decent.

Got a notice on 13/7 asking me to collect registered parcel from Pejabat Pos Lunas.
Felt weird because my area is classified under Pejabat Pos Kulim all this while.
Nervous as well because the last time I collected one, it was a PDRM summon.

Went to Pejabat Pos Lunas on 15/7 only to be told that the "clever" postman stamped wrongly.
It was supposed to be Pejabat Pos Kulim indeed.
Luckily it was the samples from EverydayMe.

Downy for fabric softener.
Olay Regenerist for anti-ageing cream.
Thank you EverydayMe.
Will pass to mom and review them on EverydayMe soon.

More work but more systematic.
Good progress indeed!

#100happydays Day 7 090714

Happy Day 7 (09/07/2014)
First time sending postcard to this special friend.
Forgot our appointment in Youth Park.
He was there waiting.
Sending this as an apology cum surprise.

 Visit Malaysia Year 2014.
I have never talked much to this colleague.
Our correspondence started when I emailed him his retirement farewell photo.
From there, short exchanges of updates and jokes ensued.

I enjoy befriending elderlies due to their foresight and experience.
God has a unique way to let people know each other.
I appreciate that.

#100happydays Day 6 080714

Happy Day 6 (08/07/2014)
Resumed reading, albeit at a slow progress.

Been back-dating my reading.
I have two Reader's Digest magazines waiting for me.

#100happydays Day 5 070714

Happy Day 5 (07/07/2014)
Relives my memory on stamp collection.
Never an avid stamp collector,
but it is always a joy to see an uncommon stamp.

Keeping this for Irene,
an ex-colleague who is an avid stamp collector.

I am a proud postcard collector.
Postcard with stamp posted from the country of origin itself.

#100happydays Day 3 060714

Happy Day 3 (06/07/2017)
Very informative talk on curved spine (scoliosis) in Adventist Hospital.

80% case is idiopathic scoliosis where the reason is unknown.
Idiopathic scoliosis:
Idiot doctor.
Pathetic patient.

Diagnosis:
a) Standing position X-ray.
b) Physically bending down - observe any humps etc.

3 type of cases:
a) Idiopathic scoliosis - unknown reason
b) Postural scoliosis - easily treated with postural correction
c) Degenerative scoliosis - for elderlies, due to ageing process

Treatment:
a) Curve < 20 degree:
Not much action is needed, more on monitoring.

b) Curve > 20 degree:
Brace is recommended.
Rigid plastic to support spine structure from further deviation,
worn 23 hours a day.

c) Curve > 45 degree:
Surgery is recommended.
Screws will be placed to try to limit the deviation,
but spine flexibility is limited to certain degree.

 d) Adventist is offering 3D Schroth Method.
It elongates the trunk and correct the imbalances of body
via specific exercises and breathing techniques.

For them, they need to train up their muscle to complement the weak spine structure.
This reminds me not to take my muscle for granted.
I should start to train up my super weak core muscle.

No Time to Exercise?
Your Opportunity is NOW!
Saw this while climbing down the stairs, well placed indeed!

#100happydays Day 4 060714

 Happy Day 4 (06/07/2014)
Great impromptu outing.
In conjunction with Penang Heritage Day (07/07/2014).

De Moonlight Cafe at Lebuh Pantai. Located at the junction of Lebuh Acheh and Armenian Street. Recommended. Good food, good service and nice ambience.

Sorry, forgot to snap decent photos on the food.
Chocolate banana mille crepe is average.
Egg and cheese sandwich is surprisingly good despite the humble presentation
and it comes with potato chips.
Best of all is the iced chocolate drink, perfectly done!

No longer available for adoption, he is mine!
And yes, Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.

What you deem as beautiful may not be for others and vice versa.
Talking about the irony of declaring love *face palm*

Come to think of it, this is my first time visiting such cafe with him.
I was so happy seeing the beautiful quotes, I love such ambience.

Never expect him to have talent in ketupat weaving.
Now I am admiring him more...

This was done by CH.
Beautifully done.
Beautifully shot.

Life feels good!

4 July 2014

#100happydays Day 2 040714

Happy Day 2 (04/07/2014).
Cleared my summon.
What a good citizen I am
(wouldn't be getting a summon if I am really good).
It reminds me to have better EQ on the road.
More patience and code of ethic.

First time got this on the spot.
Friends asked: No bribing?
Lurus bendul ma, never thought of it actually.

Guilty for cutting queue from the left.
I saw the traffic police summoning 2 cars in front
and should have just went straight.
But the stubborn and naïve me was hoping
that he didn't see and still wanted to cut back into queue.
Padan muka!

Had prepared this. Bye bye honey! Sob sob T.T

Checked MYEG. It was RM100 instead.
And I used credit card to pay. RM2 fees charged.

Yay, I get to save RM50! Would not even need to fork out RM100
(if I have obeyed the rules in the first place, ooppsss..)

One thing though... the car plate was wrong.
Friend said: Can argue.
Nah... I was at fault, so just pay the summon la.
Lesson learnt.
My new goal, to avoid summon!

3 July 2014

#100happydays Day 1 030714

Recently I have completed my 100 Happy Days Challenge in my Whatsapp Group Chat. I would like to continue my another 100 Happy Days Challenge in my blog, exclusively for myself :)

Happy Day 1 (03/07/2014)
Very thoughtful souvenir from Taiwan on 01/07/2014.
Gifts for modern people. Couldn't agree more.

Small and handy. A touch of nature.

Not much watering needed.

Cute isn't it? Bud closes when humid and opens when dry.
Nothing is impossible in this technology-drive world.

2 July 2014

Transformers

Today I felt bo syok again. Over trivial matter. Is it due to PMS or is it just me being too sensitive?

I changed my movie selection to Z-Storm because I wanted to wait for him to come back to watch Transformers. And today he told me he watched it in US already. He even thought that I had watched Transformers already.

Sigh! No comment and don't know what to say. Told him I felt bo syok though. Made him felt guilty. I am bad huh? Think about it, he should.

Just imagine this... how should I feel when I don't think he bothers about what I have said?

This is just another indication that I am not living my life just yet. If I learn to live for myself, then other people will be a matter of a companion of choice rather than my emotion being dictated by them.

So true yet so hard to execute. Whatever... I just want to release out the negative energy.

p/s: Stupid Transformers!
