About 'Impossible'

Impossible is not a fact.
It's an opinion.

Impossible is not a declaration.
It's a dare.

Impossible is potential.
Impossible is temporary.
Impossible is nothing.

Is that why they say
"Nothing is Impossible"?

Look At All Four Seasons Of Life

This is from an email forwarded by a friend, Indika from Sri Lanka:

There was a man with four sons who wanted his sons to learn not to judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn to look at a pear tree that was a great distance away.

The first son went during winter, the second son went during spring, the third son went during summer and the youngest son went during autumn. When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they have seen.

The first son said the tree was ugly, bent and twisted.

The second son said no, it was covered with green buds and full of promise.

The third son disagreed, he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen.

The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruits, full of life and fulfilment.

The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they had each seen but only one season in the tree's life.

He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, or by only one season, and that the essence of who they are, and the pleasure, joy, and love that come from life can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up.

If you give up when it's winter, you will miss the promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer, the fulfilment of your fall.

Moral:
Don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy of the rest. Don't judge life by one difficult season.

Going to Lose a Battle Partner Soon

My colleague had been hinting me that he might leave the organization. I have heard of his accounts of competitor trying to lure him away. I never thought that he was serious at first. But I guess when others keep on trying to lure you, somehow your mind will get disturbed somehow. Last week, he was moody, I'd never seen him like this. Till today, I still couldn't figure out what's the reason behind it. But he hinted me on leaving again.

Today he came into my office, and we managed to chat for some time. It seems like he is quite fixed on leaving. He was only waiting for something to struck along, which will make his resignation much easier. Something like someone stepping onto his tail, or being pissed off by seniors etc. Well, I will be feeling the same too if I were him.

He is someone who can work and had established his networks very well. But of course when you are in a comfortable position, somehow you might get laid back. But when pushed, he can definitely do his job well and sometimes could teach us a thing or two. He had been a good friend of mine at work. Both of us are HODs, so there are things which only a HOD can complain to another HOD.

It will not be professional or good for a HOD to complain about her boss in front of her subordinates right? Of course the subordinates have eyes to see. I will say this boss was the one who couldn't let people feel like staying, because no one fights for our own benefits. To give him a benefit of doubt, perhaps he did something for us, but honestly I don't think so. The only reason I am staying back is because I have my 'gui ren' in HQ. But hell know what will happen when the 'gui ren' leaves HQ in the future.

That's why I always agree when people say that life is a cycle of up and down. When you are in the UP position, never forget that you will get DOWN soon enough. Same goes to when you fell to the bottom, fear not. The light will guide you up. So, go back to the HOD thingy. I am an emotional person, up to the point where I blurt out my emotions straight-forwardly. Hence, I am easy to predict.

There was once when I got really pissed off, I couldn't find anyone to complain to, and the only person I could think of was this colleague. It was fun that he was willing to listen and at the same time, add in some humour to cool down my anger. Oh, I will miss that day so much. Of course I don't hope he leaves, but it seems inevitable, from the way he spoke to me earlier on.

He told me as a friend, and I was listening as a friend. Somehow felt like I am betraying him if I decided to tell my 'gui ren' in HQ because I knew she would be able to do something to retain this colleague. In the end, I decided not to do anything. Because Management should learn how to appreciate its staff in order to get their loyalty in return. Even if we manage to retain him this round, who can guarantee he will stay the next round, giving that we have this kind of boss in our branch?

All the best to him!

To Define Or Not To Define

Came across this in FB so would like to share it here. Yes, I am getting lazy to pen in my own thoughts due to lack of time (yeah, lame excuse I know). Because I don't like to vent out half-heartedly. Sort of like not doing my own self some justice by not penning in my thoughts properly. At least, by sharing things which had been written somewhere, I don't have to spend too much time on the post, unless I got really upset, pissed off or jubilant over something important to me.

I do not define myself by how many roadblocks have appeared in my path,
I define myself by the courage I've found to forge new roads.

I do not define myself by how many disappointments I've faced,
I define myself by the forgiveness and the faith I have found to begin again.

I do not define myself by how long a relationship lasted,
I define myself by how much I have loved, and been willing to love again.

I do not define myself by how many times I have been knocked down,
I define myself by how many times I have struggled to my feet.

I am not my pain.
I am not my past.
I am that which has emerged from the fire.

The Magic 7

What would you associate the number 7 with? James Bond 007? Convenience store 7-Eleven?
Here is an additional way how you can look at 7, in a more positive way that is....

7 colors make a R.A.I.N.B.O.W.

7 chords make a M.U.S.I.C.

7 days make a W.E.E.K.

7 continents make a W.O.R.L.D.

7 beautiful letters spell F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

What My Room Told Me

Saw this in FB and like it instantly. Can't help but to blog about it immediately! Here it goes...

When I woke up this morning, I asked myself, "What is life about?" I found the answer in my room...

Fan said > Be cool.
    Roof said > Aim high.

Window said > See the world.
Clock said > Every minute is previous.

Mirror said > Reflect before you act.
Calendar said > Be up to date.

Door said > Push hard for your goals.
Floor said > Kneel down and pray.

Awesome isn't it? The writer managed to see wonderful things out of ordinary items. Well, creativity and positive mind speaks for itself.

Palindromes

Came across a few palindromes, something which I always like. Palindromes read the same no matter where you read it from, frontward or backward. Interesting?

never odd or even

step on pets

live not on evil

rise to vote sir

p/s: This must be one of the shortest post I have wrote. I'd always wanted to be brief but the long-winded me wouldn't really allows it. Can't help.
