Did a simple experiment lately. Study case was on human’s curiosity. Method? Easy…
Got a blue rose from a lovely colleague and it was a surprise. I never got a flower from anyone before. It sort of brigthens up my day since I placed it on the upper right corner of my table. So whenever I lifted my head up from my paperwork each time, i will see the blue rose. OK now, let’s not jump into conclusion first. This colleague is a ’she’, not a ‘he’. There, gotcha!
So you see, that’s the experiment I tried in FB. Posted “I got a blue rose today ^^” and waited for the responses, purposely omitting the word “guy”. Wanted to keep it going for a few days before revealing the truth but I just can’t wait to see their responses and in fact can’t stand the bombarding of questions all over, either in FB or MSN. Most will ask “Who is the guy?”, urging me to reveal it. And when I responded that the truth will be revealed soon, I was actually inviting more queries, something which I shouldn’t have done.
I guess what intrigued them most was that this news actually came as a surprise to them. All this while, I was advocating singlehood and suddenly they “thought” I am in a relationship. Of course I had thought of being committed to a relationship, but I am not rushing into it. When there is, there is. When there is none, then be it! Get what I mean?
I am glad that through the prank, I got to know that CMY really understands me. She guessed that the blue rose was actually from a girl, instead of a guy. She told me that I wouldn’t be posting it in FB if a guy really gave me a flower.Bingo! Clever indeed and we promised to be twins in the coming life if we have the chance. And mind you, we actually have the twins gene running in our family. I think a few other close friends of mine knew that I wouldn’t be posting this kind of thing in FB too.
So this experiment proves that with some manipulation of words to be reinforced by others’ remarks, things can go big and wild. Of course I am not saying that mine was. I was just referring to some gossips or ‘khabar angin’ which can run wild and big just like that, when it was reinforced with some ’supportive’ remarks. So this teaches us not to simply jump into conclusion.
And when I revealed the truth in FB, the reactions I got was =.=+
Haha, and I seriously loved it. Just felt like being mischievous for a change.
