14.02.2011
I admit. I was in a commitment. However, all is about to end. It is not working out. I had to bid farewell to my long-term relationship. I had to part ways with my beloved dearie.
I can only blame myself for being so unfortunate. And also Air Asia, mind you! Damn the on-line booking system. Damn me for not checking my email regularly. The consequence, I had to break up with RM500++. Damn hurtful, now I know what it feels like to break up. Choi Choi Choi! Touch wood! Too ‘emo’ la pulak.
The whole ‘break up’ thing started on 11feb. I was booking a trip for 4 to Medan on 13feb for my sis. However, it says Error and there wasn’t any confirmation of booking stated on the screen. When I checked email, there wasn’t any booking confirmation email either. So I thought no booking was confirmed. In fact, I tried 3 times, but the ‘error’ message appeared each time.
So on 13feb we did the booking again and this time everything went smooth. The travelling period is from 22feb onwards. The booking reference number appeared on the screen and I also received booking confirmation email from Air Asia. Imagine the shock I had when I realised that Air Asia did send a confirmation email for the 11feb trip.
I was like… WTH…doom! Tried calling Air Asia so-called ‘Premium Customer Service Line’ but it was always engaged. On top of that, the calls were charged at RM1.95 per min. I wasted almost RM15 and yet I still couldn’t get through the line. I gave up and dropped an email to Air Asia. The flight was actually on 13feb morning itself. We only did the second booking on 13feb afternoon. How are they supposed to fly?
I had only myself to blame for not checking my email regularly. The flight costs RM1k++. I decided to pay half since I pity my sis. She is travelling with her hubby, her father-in-law and her daughter. And because of that, I had to break up with my RM500++. I am already on a frugal mode. I wonder how much more frugal I have to be because of this. This is quite heart-wrenching, I tell you.
Thanks to the few friends who gave me some suggestions on how to handle this. Maggie shared that she double booked before and Air Asia refunded after few months. However, her flight was scheduled in advance and the plane didn’t take off yet. My case is different in the sense that the plane had already took off. After giving up hope of getting hold of Air Asia premium customer service line, i called sis to ask her to go to Air Asia counter in Penang Airport to enquire whether a refund is possible. That’s today, Valentine’s Day 14.02.2011.
As expected, the answer is NO. Since then, no more romance with my RM500. Still keeping my fingers crossed that there will be a positive answer from the feedback I gave to Air Asia. The moment both my sis and I knew about the confirmed booking for 13feb, we were dumbstruck and at loss for words. It really spoilt our mood ytdy. As usual, I retired to bed early and ended up waking up early too. Felt very refreshed and cleared the clutter in my mind. I had accepted the ‘break up’ calmly. No more feel already. Worse come to worse, eat bread lah!
That is how I celebrate my Valentine’s Day for 2011
Lastly, I would like to wish that all dating and married couples are blessed with a blissful and ever-lasting mutual likings for each other.
P/S: I some more purposely don’t wanna go out tonight, cos I wanna contribute to making the road less jammed for those loving couples where Valentine’s mean a great deal to them. 很伟大吧! The truth is, no one ask me out to yum cha…
