#44 - Is fortune telling = feng shui = statistics?

01.05.2010
Been MIA esp. from Friendster ever since there is Facebook. However, I still make it a point to blog in Friendster cos lazy to create my own blog, with its own decoration etc. But recently didn’t really blog even though there are tonnes to talk about. Let’s start it all over again…

1. Fortune telling
It’s pretty normal for Chinese to have their fortune being told, esp. before CNY. And I tell u, there are so many types and ways to tell your fortune. This year, my mom went to ‘cha jia men’, to know what are the Dos and Don’ts for the entire year for the whole family, basing on our birth date and time. For my part, mom said I should control my temper and don’t think too much. Otherwise, what I think might be real.

I think that should mean, don’t think too much on bad things. I admit I have bad temper and is pessismistic at times. Well, there seemed to be some truth in it. So I did change my attitude at work slightly, but now return back to normal. Perhaps, I should stick a reminder on the wall to not be so stern at work. But it is hard since I am quite demanding and serious at work. If u want to do sth, better do it good. Work done half-heartedly is definitely worse off than didn’t do all!

2. Feng shui
My colleague, P is always a weird lady. I can never guess what’s in her mind. Just one day when I was passing invoice for her action, she whispered, “Ms Tan, are you free during lunchtime? Want to share something good with you. Can’t talk now. Go to find you later.” Hmm…suspicion on the rise. It turned out that when I managed to convince my other colleagues to join me in the introductory meeting, her senior was actually selling Biodisc, where 13 types of minerals are being fused together into a glass disc at 3000C. I think the diameter of the circular disc is less than 10cm itself. The way we heard it, it sounded so miraculous.

It utilises scalar energy and involves transformation of “dead water” into “live water”. How? I still can’t really figure it out as I never knew about scalar energy before. They just said that if the water passes through the Biodisc for several times, it can change the alignment of water structure and it will be in crystalline form. Since our water in M’sia is chlorinated, it is dead water and had damaged its structure. Even showed us a Japanese Prof’s name and the book he had written on the molecular structure of water from different parts of the world. They showed us the picture of those person who had benefited from it. So there are 2 ways to use it:

a) Pass water through this small piece of Biodisc for several times and drink it on daily basis. Can also use it to spray on your body parts which may be problematic. Skeptical right? In a way, it may be true since our body is made up of 70% of water. If the water you drink is healthy, sure you will be healthier too.

b) Shine light through Biodisc so that the light can have remedial effect on you. This is the most skeptical part. Can you imagine? Shining it on the head and leg of a 16 year old girl who had stroke for 3 hours and she can already stand, of which after 1 month, she can walk like normal. Either she is lucky or her stroke is not too bad after all. We from Science background are trained not to accept things blindly so my first reaction will definitely be “Huh? You think you are a God ah? 3 hours can walk after a stroke?”

But sometimes, things work in ways you can’t comprehend. Hence, my stand now is not to trust nor to deny. If there is truth in the claim, it is a good tool and worth to be shared with the rest. We may not be needing it now, but there might be someone around us needing it. But the doubt is always there.

What caught our interest was that after the introduction, the speaker Mr Lim (who is also a Chinese medical practitioner and feng shui master) will help us to improve my life by using YiChing to know of our life via our hp, house and vehicle numbers. It’s new to me, first time I heard of it. It was not new actually, just that I am not knowledgable enough to know of its existence. What he said left me wondering does this mean that our lives are actually affected by the number we have and not the other way round?

Actually we are destined to be taking such numbers and that is how they can read our life via these numbers. Logical enough for me to accept. Later I learnt from my colleague that YiChing is also based on statistics accumulated for many many years. That may be how they use YiChing to decipher our attitudes etc.

So for mine, not too bad. These are what he said about me, basing on my hp, motor and house no.:

persistent (to me, it’s stubborn in other word) > bossy (true enough, stern at work) > result-oriented (a bit kia su at times), don’t do things for the sake of doing  (sometimes to the point of taxing myself by paying too much attention to details)> influential in my dptment (sure, since I am HOD) > has reputation in workplace (he didn’t mention good or bad, but I knew the answer) > romance is always around me, if I am willing for it to be (kidding or what? I didn’t see anyone also) > must take care of health, esp eyes and skin (recently really got pblem with skin and eyes get tired very easily)

So what do you think of his reading and interpretation? I would say nearly 95% precise. Wow, this YiChing thing is quite good. Heard that it is popular in Taiwan currently. He said can change the numbers to change the fate. He suggested few numbers as he said my hp number is too powerful and may drain energy out of me but I think I don’t want to change lah. What will be will be!
