New environment

How did my farewell turned out? Pretty good despite me working till the very last working day. I wrote a personal note to all my staffs, and some close colleagues. Needless to say, I also receive farewell gifts from several colleagues and staffs.

Makes me feel appreciated as I don't really expect that. And again I got flower bouquet, I really thanked him a lot. So far I have only received flowers for two occasions, twice from him due to me leaving and twice for convo purpose, but sadly none from JS yet.

And a colleague who were no longer close to me due to certain conflict actually gave me an angpow to start new job and told me that I must invite her for my wedding. I was surprised and happy at the same time because I did ponder if she wants to attend my wedding dinner when the time comes. And surprisingly I actually bumped into her during Sat lunch with friends, after I finish work on Sat (new company). Talk about fate huh?

Come to new company, I do feel that the management really takes good care of me, by planning training plan and ensure that I get my petrol chit, and laptop on day one. And constant apology for not having proper office due to renovation work in progress. I even have a car park ready. Still waiting for my Blackberry.

Totally new experience for me here. The way things are handled here are so different. And I learn to use new laptop since it is using Windows 8. Later will need to explore Blackberry too. And the food safety system here is different from my previous one. I am trying to learn to relearn and to be humble but I find that the people here are sometimes not so friendly or fear me.

Maybe I didn't smile enough or am not friendly enough? What makes me feel at home is my Production colleague who was actually my ex-colleague. And it makes me feel warm when my close friends do care about me being in the new environment. Either sms, call or using whatsapp or wechat, they asked if I am doing fine, etc.

I know I am not working hard enough yet for this new job. But then it also brought me to realise that I had been abandoning my hiking, badminton and yoga routine, not to mention reading. Terrible. I must do something especially on reading. But I did catch up on spending time with my nieces. Not spending enough time with nephew though.

And JS is off to US for two weeks. Will be missing him very much. Perhaps not too much since I will start to pick up a busy routine soon enough. Good also, can distract me a little while longer. Missing someone is not a good feeling you know.

And oh, since my GM is also known as Ms Tan, I asked to called as KP instead. There you go. Now I can be known as Tan, Ms Tan, Ah Pheo, Pheo, Jiong Ping and lastly KP. Steady leh... Thought of having an English name but decided against it as I haven't found a favorite one yet.
